With over 88% of schools in Ireland participating in the Green Schools program, the key to change in the home may lie in the schools. So children have been asked how they can bring their green school practices involving energy, waste, biodiversity, travel, etc. to their homes.
The Green Home scheme, introduced by An Taisce in partnership with the EPA was brought to schools across Ireland for that purpose. Parents attend meetings concerning environmental issues once a week. The initiative supports, advises and encourages households to reduce their impact on the environment and save money!
